Most newcomers on their first visit to Austin, Texas, are very
pleasantly surprised to find a charming city with beautiful
lakes and a variety of terrains - from rolling hills to rocky
ranchland to lush farmland. You won't find many 10-gallon hats,
rattlesnakes or dusty roads. You'll find a very sophisticated
population with seven local universities and a lively nightlife
filled with theater, great restaurants, and hundreds of live
music venues. But, perhaps the coolest thing about Austin is
the big blue sky and 300 annual days of sunshine that bring
people outdoors to jog along the lake, or cook out on the patio.
